Councilor Richard Strathern

Dick Strathern was sworn into office on January 2, 2007 and will serve on Council position #4 through the year 2010. Dick is a retired Human Resources director for Precision Castparts and has been highly involved in many communities and professional organizations. He was elected by his peers to serve as Council President in 2009.

Dick holds a BA degree in Political Science and a Masters Degree in Educational Administration. His diverse background includes working in public, private and non-profit sectors. He now serves as the Council liaison to the Citizen Involvement Committee, Parks Committee, Urban and Rural Reserves Committee, and the Complete Count Committee.

Dick and his family moved to Gresham in 1993 after an extensive search for a community with an “attitude” of neighborliness, citizen engagement, and a strong commitment to livability.
