Commissioner Melissa Cribbins

Melissa Cribbins was raised in Coos County, and graduated from Coquille High School. She attended SWOCC and is on the SWOCC foundation board of directors. She is also the Chair of the Coos Bay North Bend Water Board. She has been a member of Leadership Coos, Ford Leadership (now a trainer), and the Oregon State Bar Leadership Academy. While at Gonzaga Law School, she was in the top 20% of my class, and earned numerous accolades.

After graduating from college, she became a research scientist. After eight years in the field of drinking water treatment, she went to law school.  She attended law school full time while working thirty hours per week as the City of Spokane Water Quality Supervisor. She graduated from law school cum laude, and was admitted to the Oregon Bar. She clerked for the Douglas County Circuit Court before returning to Coos Bay. She was hired by the Coquille Indian Tribe as one of their attorneys in April of 2007, and has been there ever since.
