Sheriff Craig Roberts
Sheriff Craig Roberts has been with the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office for more than 22 years, spending the last 16 as a detective.
Roberts, 46, has a wide background in dealing with family issues. He founded the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Child Abuse Team and the multi-agency Domestic Violence Enhanced Response Team which he directed prior to his election.
Sheriff Roberts other duties have included working in the Clackamas County Jail, on the SWAT team and on the narcotics unit.
Craig believes that our way out of the crime business is through our kids. "In order to make a long term change, we have to do a better job protecting our kids," he says. "That is the long term future of Clackamas County."
He plans to give greater attention to methamphetamines and identity theft, two problems areas that go hand in hand. One goal is to form an interagency street crimes team to target the small group of people who commit such crimes along with those who are committing mail theft.
Sheriff Roberts has the ability to bring communities together as he demonstrated recently when he chaired the fifth annual Child Abuse Summit and Family Violence Conference held in Portland.
Sheriff Roberts, his wife and three children reside in Wilsonville.
