Councilor Barbara Jones

 

Councilor Barbara Jones was first elected in November 2004 and re-elected in 2008. In January 2010, she was selected by her peers to serve as the City Council President for the City Council.  Councilor Jones current term expires on December 31, 2012.
 
Councilor Jones has been a resident of Fairview since 1995. She is a Workers Compensation Claims manager and a Certified Professional Disability Manager for JH Kelly, LLC. JH Kelly is a fourth generation, family owned construction company that specializes in process industries. Over the past 80 years, the company has grown to over 1,000 employees consisting of carpenters, laborers, ironworkers, boilermakers, millwrights, pipe fitters and electricians.
 
At home, Councilor Jones is the proud mother of two terrific young ladies; she is also the proud grandmother of a one year old and a seven year old who attends elementary school in the Fairview area. Barbara spends her spare time reading and doing needlework and pottery. In addition to spoiling her grandchildren, she also loves to spoil her animals - (Jade, the Boxer; Hildegard and Mr. Bonkers, the cats)
 
When asked what her vision for Fairview was, Ms. Jones stated: "I love Fairview and the future it brings to the next generation. While I am passionate about doing what is right for today's citizens, it is our responsibility as a City Council to provide the next generation a city that is ecologically and economically sound. Giving my time to the citizens of Fairview is an honor and privilege."
