Portland - As Republican U.S. Sen. Gordon Smith considers his next profession, he should cross history teacher off the list. Smith's fabricated explanation for his 2008 defeat shows Smith still hasn't learned how to tell Oregonians the truth, or separate historical fact from fiction. In today's Oregonian, a Smith aide states Smith believes its President Bush's fault, not the Republican Senator's for his loss.

Portland – The Democratic Party of Oregon is offering two ways to celebrate the inauguration of President-elect Barack Obama. The state party will hold a victory ball and a dance party on Tuesday, January 20th to celebrate the inauguration.
