U.S. Senator Jeff Merkley
In 2006, Senator Merkley led the Oregon House Democrats to a majority after sixteen years of Republican control of the House. As Speaker of the House he led the Democratic majority to pass landmark legislation for Oregonians, including civil unions, contraceptive equity, payday lending restrictions, and protecting worker’s rights.
As US Senator he has continued his work championing issues that matter to Oregonians. Senator Merkley will join House Democrats as we work to win back the majority so that we can restore progressive leadership on the issues that matter.
