We Are Strong.

A "caucus" is an officially recognized organization within the Democratic Party. With over 700 members and contacts throughout Oregon, we are the largest individual, organized caucus within the DPO (at least for now, and we encourage all Oregon's diverse communities to get active in the party!)

We hold a voting seat on the party's statewide Executive Committee. We have members sitting on the State Central Committee, State Executive Committee, and serving as Chairs of Standing Party Committees. We have members serving as County Democratic Party Chairs. We have members serving as Precinct Committee People, and serving on county, district, and statewide committees. We all actively work both individually and collectively, inside and outside the party to ensure the fair and equal representation of LGBT citizens at all levels of the party and government.

We publish a bi-monthly newsletter to keep our members informed about LGBT Democratic political activity in Oregon. We endorse candidates in selected races. We host volunteer events, such as canvasses and fundraisers, to support selected candidates and events, on our own and in coordination with other organizations, such as Basic Rights Oregon and the Human Rights Campaign (Oregon). And, we're always open to new ideas and energy.

Our goal is to work within and alongside the entire party to make our great State even better

... for everyone!

We Need You.

While we reached this point with less than two years of active organizing since our foundation in April of 2005, we have much more work to do. Local chapters are being organized in counties across Oregon, and your active participation is very welcome. If no chapter yet exists in your county, we will help you create one. And, if your county's LGBT Democratic activists are already organized, please get in touch with us so we can all coordinate our efforts and support one another!

We need the energy, effort, and insight of every LGBT Democratic activist in Oregon to represent our community's concerns and interests within the party, and our government.
